Illumination of the Historic Complex

As you make your way to Lahore Fort from the newly built Greater Iqbal Park a straight passage will lead you to the historic complex “Huzoori Bagh”. This antique garden is a huge enclosure between the Alamgiri Gate of Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. Right there in this garden, in an instance, you can feel the history of this region. The grand Mosque of Lahore, the magnificent Fort, The Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh, Tomb of Allama Iqbal and the only existing Mughal era gate “Roshnai Gate” all meet in this one garden. Now you can imagine the historic vista and grandeur of the place, “Huzoori Bagh”. The place was closed for the tourists except for the Badshahi Mosque. Recently it has been illuminated by the Walled City of Lahore Authority and now it has been opened soon for the public for night tourism. The historic complex has been illuminated with almost 1000 high performance European standard lights and total cost of the project is Rs. 16 million. All the sites in historic complex have been illuminated which include Huzoori Bagh Baradari, Alamgiri Gate, Roshnai Gate, walls of Lahore Fort and Huzoori Bagh complex, entrance of Badshahi Mosque, tomb of Allama Iqbal, dome of Samadhi of Ranjeet Singh and all the plants and trees inside the historic complex. The entrance gate of historic complex has also been illuminated. The British era Roshnai Gate towards Fort Road Food Street has been opened for the tourists and they walk through it into this historic garden.
